Okay so we actually went outside today and watered some wilting dill plant… yeah then the sky turns black and looks like it is going to storm just a couple hours later. Such is the weather in this sub-tropical south! I am still adjusting from Southern California where I was born and raised and enjoyed sunny summers, no rain storms. It’s taken me a few years to not only realize but accept that here summer means wet and stormy. Super hot and humid. Even in October as it was in 2008 when I was 8 months pregnant it was 106 f. and with the humidity that means heat index in the hundred-teens. When I was ready to give birth, I looked like a big bloated hot air bag I swear. lol.
Not the best day, hot, wet, dark. You get the idea. It’s still technically spring and I figure it is going to be this miserable weather til probably Halloween. Same thing every year though. Hopefully no hurricane evacuations this year. Please. ugh.
Time to find something cute and happy to occupy myself with! Here’s a pretty pink flower and some cupcakes. yay.

Jesus and Red Beans can Save Your Soul!
This is an old vintage wooden Last Rites Crucifix, which slides open to contain a small vial for your holy water, and has two spots for your candles. The Jesus top slides off, and props up in between the two candles. There is a hole on the back to hang this on the wall. It is in very nice condition, with the resin Jesus actually nailed to the wood in the correct areas (his hands and feet) with tiny little rusted nails.This Last Rites Crucifix was found on a dusty shelf in a little shop in the French Quarter, no doubt ready for it’s next gig.
